Lazy Day

No internet last night, as usual.  So here is yesterday's blog.

Today was a pretty mundane day.

I woke up around 12 and I thought it was like 6 in the morning because I was still a little tired and it was pitch black in my room.  When I looked at the clock, I decided it was time to get out of bed.  We had lunch soon after that and then for the rest of the day I just listened to music, read, and did stuff on the internet.   I was trying to make plans to do something, but nobody was really going out. 

Janie got home from a family lunch that she went to and I was trying to convince her to go out, but she said she was just going to stay home.  About 10 minutes later, she texted me and said she was at the pub with her host sister and some other friends.  I changed really fast and then sped walked to the pub.  When I got there, I just talked with everybody and then a little later, I was dropped back off at home. 

After dinner, my host parents and I went to Lorena’s cousin’s house because there was family in town from Milan.  When I was meeting everyone, I was surprised because most of the family knew really good English.  Then they decided they were only going to speak to me in Italian to help me learn.  When we were sitting at the table, they would speak to me in Italian and I would only half understand what they were saying.  I usually just smiled, nodded, and said “si” and it seemed to work.  Sometimes they would translate for me.

Around 12 we returned home and the internet is out.  Everything that has to be plugged into an outlet is also not working.   I guess it’s a sign that I should go to bed.
