Fun Monday

At school this morning, I was told that there was an assembly for the first two hours of school.  I guess that meant that all we would do is sit in class doing nothing for two hours, because that's what we did.  The students also brought up to the Italian teacher, and to the principal that the English teacher doesn't know English very well and they want to be taught better.  They wrote a letter to the principal and then I guess the principal talked with the English teacher.  The class after break happened to be English, so the whole class was very silent in the beginning.  The teacher talked with the class about the problem, but I didn't really understand anything. Then we proceeded to the English lesson, and I have to say, it was the quietest English class we've had so far this year.  The teacher even asked me to read a paragraph for the first time, and it was funny because it was super silent when I was reading, and I could hear some people in the background saying the words that I just said because they were realizing what the pronunciation was.  After English, there was another hour of doing nothing and at 12:15, the people who had their parents sign this paper thing, were allowed to leave.  I forgot to give it my host parents, so I had to stay at school for another hour with some other kids in my class who also forgot to have their parents sign it.  It didn't end up being too bad because we just went to the computer lab and I got on facebook and showed some of the people in the class my family and stuff.

After lunch, I hung out in the kitchen with Lorena for an hour or so and we talked about horoscopes and some of my goals for this year.  Then I walked to Italian lessons.  After the lesson, which was only an hour, Giulia picked us up and we went to this restaurant place and sat outside for about an hour with some friends.  At 6, Giulia took me to the gym and I did my step class.  When I got home, we had dinner and I was going to go to bed soon after, but then I remembered about the church group, so I had Lorena call Janie's host mom to see if she was going.  I kind of wanted to go to bed, but Janie was going, so I got ready and we went.

During the group, the people talked, and then we watched this short film that was in English, but it had Italian subtitles.  It was nice because Janie and I could understand something in this group for once.  Then everybody had a discussion about the meaning of the movie (I think) and then we went home at 10:30.

I am not looking forward to waking up tomorrow since I'm not going to get much sleep tonight.  It's already 11:30.

Buonanotte!
